New iRiff: Ronin Fox Trax: The Lost City Chapter 4!

Part of the Lost City iRiffs Crossover Project.

Ronin Fox takes on "Doomed" the fourth chapter in this gripping tale of kidnapping, betrayal, betrayal by kidnappers, kidnapping from betrayers, betraying kidnappers by kidnapping already kidnapped victims, and of course gigantic African stereotypes. (Gigantic both literally and figuratively)

Jessie is your average everyday loner...well okay so he's really a whiney little wimp.  He's manly enough to have a girlfriend though, even though he seemingly would rather leave her alone and sneak into his gym parter's bedroom.

Oh, and he's killing people.

So what does a wimpy, sexually indecisive, annoying teenage murderer have to do with Freddy Kreuger?  Good question, we'll get back to that...maybe.

Nancy has a problem.  She has bad dreams.  Her dreams might actually kill her, in fact.  Of course that doesn't stop her from falling asleep all the time, or from purposefully going into her dreams with the intent of tackling the dream demon that stalks her in order to bring him and his hand full of razor sharp blades into the real world.

Nancy is pretty dumb.

New iRiff: Ronin Fox Trax: The Last Unicorn!

Sometimes you find yourself looking back on your childhood and asking yourself, "Did that ever really make sense to me? What was in my water?"

The Last Unicorn.  A gripping and sad tale of the ravages of extinction and...what?  Oh, apparently it's a whimsical romp of animation from people mainly known for Christmas specials coupled with several long musical numbers by those guys that sang Sister Golden Hair.

Ahh the Philippines.  A lovely island nation off the Asian coast, the Philippines boasts a rich culture that flows over all its seven thousand plus islands.

And the soda, ahh the tasty soda.

What?  I just thought we could take some time and talk about Coca Cola and the Philippines, what's your problem?  It's not like I came up with it on my own, back in 1955 there was a whole film made on just that, and I've come to share it with you today.

Enjoy this short of highest quality, and don't forget to pick up some sugar-filled beverage to enjoy with it.

Quick update, November 28, 2008

Work hit a snag on Last Unicorn this week as some of the audio was ruined by mistake without being backed up properly. Re-recording will take place this weekend, along with work on RFT's first VOD short.

The deadline for Masters of the Universe scripts has come and gone and the process of editing a working recording script has begun. The schedule is uncertain, but I should have announcements on prizes soon.

More news to come.

News from the top, November 15 2007

Well, time for a quick update, the first of many hopefully.

Work continues on Last Unicorn. Without giving too much away, I'll just say this is a complex recording process. I mean that in relation to this movie in particular.

New iRiff: Ronin Fox Trax: Star Trek The Motion Picture!

Once upon a time in the seventies, a science fiction movie arrived in theaters that redefined what movies could be.  It was exciting, magical, overwhelming!  That movie, of course, was Star Wars...then Paramount asked "What do we have that we can use to milk these sci-fi fans dry with?"

Thus Star Trek made its debut in film with Star Trek:  The Motion Picture, a story so big, so massive, so filled with endless repetitive and slow paced minature effects shots, that it took the big screen to hold it all.
