If there's one stop-motion animation holiday classic narrated by a beloved entertainment figure that has managed to become a holiday tradition in itself, it's probably Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. But when you can't afford Rudolph, Rankin/Bass' other Christmas classic is a sure-fire crowd pleaser. I speak, of course, of Frosty the Snowman.

But the Fred Astaire-narrated Santa Claus is Comin' To Town has its fair share of fans, too! And why shouldn't it? Not only does it have a toned-down version of Rudolph's much-beloved quirky spirit, but it also features that ever-popular song about putting one foot in front of the other (over and over and over and over....), a dancing mailman who knows a little too much about Santa's childhood, and a corseted woman scolding adult men in the streets. Usually you have to pay extra for that kind of treatment.

C. Glen Williams is joined by the long-suffering Charles Nathan Hagy and the effervescent Maria Fredericks to take on Santa Claus is Comin' to Town! It looks like all of the Kids can expect coal in their stocking this year....
