Christmas Lace

Celine is an adorable Québécois girl who lives with her grandmama. Where are her parents? They are never mentioned. Presumably a hideous tragedy befell them, and that’s your first clue that this is going to be a classic RiffTrax Christmas short! That, and the fact that a guy gets attacked by wolves. 

Grandmama is a master lacemaker who has a loyal customer base of exactly one woman, who buys one piece of lace, once a year at Christmas. Then the woman’s husband dies and she immediately skips town for somewhere warm, devastating the local lace industry. Though, to be honest, Celine’s financial situation would probably not be very different if, instead of selling one piece of lace every year, they sold zero pieces of lace. 

To make a grim situation even worse, the treats that Celine left outside for Baby Jesus (poutine and a Labatt’s, we assume) get stolen by a local vagrant. When Grandmama takes to her bed ill, it seems like the story is approaching a tragic end. And, in case you’d already forgotten, there’s still a wolf attack to come!
