News from the top, November 15 2007
Well, time for a quick update, the first of many hopefully.
Work continues on Last Unicorn. Without giving too much away, I'll just say this is a complex recording process. I mean that in relation to this movie in particular.
Hopefully this riff can be completed by the end of the month. Today is likely going to be a cram session in both the writing and recording side of things. But then, I'm also splitting my focus toward some other upcoming projects.
Yes, it's time to continue Freddy vs. Ronin! Those of you who haven't heard my previous Nightmare on Elm Street riffs, you can download them for free at my cheap-as-free geocities site. Nightmare 3 will provide some new challenges for me and the "Fox Team" if you will. This was a true turning point movie for the series, a turning point down the road to comedy both intentional AND unintentional! Although I'm not ready to announce anything further on it, I am planning to bring in a brand new co-riffer for this movie. It all depends on the timing, availability, and how many sleep darts it will take to keep the target sedated long enough to bring in the chair with straps and toothpicks for the eyes.
Then of course...
Yes! It's coming! One of perhaps the most riffable movies of all time, and you have a chance to be part of it! Ronin Fox Trax is having it's first ever Open Collaboration Riff, meaning anyone (yes, even you) can send in a script and share in the glory in a way that is only mildly stolen directly from Riff Raff Theater...(ahem)
Message me here or through the forum for more details, but please act soon. The current deadline for entries is November 22, only one week from this post. If you can't write a script in that amount of time, never fear, but at least contact me so I can keep up with your work before the deadline passes and give you some instructions that will help me make sense of your entry.
Prizes will be awarded. All who enter and get material into the final product will recieve the riff free of charge once released. Also, prizes for achievements yet to be announced will include gift certificates to Rifftrax and Amazon.com (so there's no confusion, no one is sponsoring this riff, the gift certificates will be bought by me out of my own precious pocket money)
You can keep up with developments on this riff here or on the forum.
I'm also planning another...little...surprise. Something...small...for you to enjoy. You might even call it a...short...film...oh, that gave it away. Well I won't tell you the title yet, so there.
Regards from RFT Headquarters,
