Get Ready... to rush out of the Cineplex! Sure, 1993 was a more innocent time. The world wasn't burdened with the knowledge of horrible things like reality television, the Backstreet Boys, Enron loopholes, or Star Wars prequels. So it comes as no shock that such a naive world could be snookered into thinking that a bus could actually fly. Now, in a more cynical age, Chris, Todd, and Danuuc have stepped forward to point out the elephant in the room... which happens to actually be an exploding hunk of public transportation. Through Riff Raff Theater's unique writing process of crowdsourced comedy, anyone who wants to can participate in the riffing! I had this long ago since I wrote for it—I assume they didn't change anything for the iRiffs release... Anyway, this is an excellent track, though it was much better live (You should read this and think "I should go to Iowa City and see one of their live shows IN ADDITION TO buying this track immediately"). Many hilarious lines and they have great voices and deliveries. I consider this to be better than the average Rifftrax. *Highly Recommended*
Great riff.
I'm a little bit biases as a contributing writer, but I didn't send in many jokes and only 4 or 5 of mine were used. This is a great riff and I hope everyone will check it out. It was worth the 5 hour drive to watch it live and it's definately worth the couple of bucks that they charge. 5/5.
Whoa......
Laugh out loud funny.
The Dennis Hopper impressions had my rolling at the beginning and the jokes just kept coming.
"There's elevator banshees in here!"
Great comic delivery, excellent writing (I suppose I have the community at large to thank for that), and WONDERFUL Dennis Hopper impressions. A few stretches of silence that I felt were ripe for riffing, but then again, I have an unnatural obsession with this movie and always felt it was ripe for ripping. Since Riff Raff Theater is crowdsourced, I guess I'll just have to contribute in the future to fill the gaps. Overall, this release was easily up to the caliber of official RiffTrax releases, and I'll definitely be picking up other riffs from these guys in the future.
works well with multiple plays too
I don't think I can edit my previous comment, but let me add that since this iRiff has been out for awhile, I've had plenty of time to play it multiple times. And like any really good riff track, there are jokes that I got on the second, third, or fourth time around which I had missed on the earlier times. A top-notch job.
Excellent riffing
I agree the Dennis Hopper impressions were great. There were a few times where I thought it really was DH saying some line, when it was one of the riffers. The riffing clearly benefits by RiffRaff Theater's "crowd-sourcing", where they end up with a wide variety of riffs and get to choose the best ones. This worked particularly well for the long boring self-important start to this film (the film itself, not the riff for it). This riff easily earns a 5-star rating from me.
Dennis Hopper impressions!
Buy this one just for the Dennis Hopper impressions. They're dead on hilarious.
