We volunteered for this Lost City group project months ago, and then spent the last few weeks wondering if *any* of the 12 groups bringing you these VOD riffs know exactly what's going on. We cound three rugged explorers, a damsel in distress, 2 (maybe 3?) warring native tribes, a femme fatale, an old scientist, a plucky sidekick, and then some weird alien dude watching over all of this madness with little recourse in how things happen.
Oh, and a 3 foot doppleganger of Terry Jones. There's always that.
Now, join Riff Raff Theater in our quest to figure out just what drugs were available in the 1930's! Maybe when they made Reefer Madness, these were the people the filmmakers were worried about!!!

Holy cats, energy!
Wow, after chapter 7 (good but very laid back) and chapter 8 (which just didn't work at all for me), these guys come in like a freakin Riff SWAT team and knock you over the head with their energy! Honestly I don't remember many lines as standout, but the riffing was enjoyable and nigh-constant, so it's not something I see as a flaw. Minor cons first, as usual: With three riffers, I wish there'd been a bit more demarcation between the three, maybe an into, even. The assumption might be that people are familiar enough with them already that there's no need for that, but since the point of this XO project (I thought) was to serve as an intro to a lot of groups, even if I COULD tell you guys apart from my own experience, it might've been a good idea to do a bit of introduction. Essentially for me it was 'the guy who kinda sounds like Weird Al Yankovic and the other 2.' Not a huge deal, but there y'go. ..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Pros: As I said, awesome energy, and also worth mentioning, great sound levels. These guys obviously know what they're doing. I loved the sting at the end, all the graphics and music. Just an amazingly professional and well put-together piece. Even if you somehow found it not at all funny, you'd have to admit it's a nicely done piece of work, technicalwise. Oh, also, it is funny (who doesn't love a good shul joke?). Just figured I should mention that at some point. An oddly prevalent amount of jokes about house shopping and penile creams, it seemed, which made me wonder if one of the writers was shopping for a house and maybe another writer was ... ummm ... a friend of someone with some self-confidence issues. ..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Also, I think people assume I'm joking when I say this, but I can't stress it enough: funny voices. These guys made fun, identifiable voices for the different characters. Rather than pick a specific joke, I'm just going to use that as my favorite bit from this piece. At times I'd use their voices as my cue for who was who rather than the visuals (those two dudes in pith helmets always confuse me; one's Butterfield, but I have no clue who the other one is--especially since they seem to switch sides at random). Loved the Bruce voice, too. I tried for a bit of a straight-jaw silly voice for him, but soon gave it up b/c it didn't fit, I felt, but their old-school semi-British voice works quite nicely. Great job! .............................................................................................................................................................................................................

Catching up
Great work as always, from the Riff Raff crew. I did have to download the VLC player to get it to work properly, but that's not a big deal. You can tell that you're having fun doing these despite how awful the target may be. The Paris Hilton line made me laugh so hard I had to rewind to hear the next couple of jokes. The Mark Twain bit cracked me up too. 5 outta 5.
Enjoy!
