The year is 1899. The Industrial Revolution has transformed nations into superpowers, which share an uneasy truce. World war looms. Also, the following are real: Rolls-Royces, heat-seaking missiles, and every work of fiction ever covered by Cliffs Notes.
Sir Sean "Should've quit while he was ahead" Connery, that chick from La Femme Nikita, and some other guys star in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, 20th Century Fox's 21st century bastardization of the 19th.
Luckily, we have assembled a unique team of individuals to combat this threat: Chris Hanel, Dave "Danuuc" Atwater, and Todd Gutknecht (in full Sean Connery mode). Armed with jokes written by the best fans this century has to offer, Riff Raff Theater is ready to tear the Gilded Age a new one!

This is excellent on many levels. Tons of high-quality, rapid-fire riffing that provides a steady stream of chuckles with a fair amount of gut-busters. Great variety of jokes, from slapstick stuff to very clever and sophisticated material. I loved the recurring jokes about this movie’s complete bastardization of classic literature. There are also a bunch of great jokes regarding the movie’s plausibility problems. A few of the lines fell flat for me but, hey, humor is subjective and besides, they can't all be zingers! The eclectic mix of comedic styles definitely keeps the riffing fresh throughout the entire movie.
Great rhythm and pacing with minimal dead spots. These riffers are a talented bunch with the ability to do a variety of impressions and accents that creates a real dynamic vocal sound and feel. There is an ongoing kick-ass Connery impression as well as a couple other dead-on impressions and some well-done musical riffs. The performers have good chemistry together. From a technical standpoint, the audio is some of the most professional you’ll hear when it comes to iRiffs. This is a top-notch riffing outfit. Definitely worth both the time and money spent. I have a feeling this riff will stand up to multiple viewings. Kudos to the writers and riffers!
Favorite laugh-out-loud moments (among many):
The aiming wasn’t invented... riff.
The Abe Lincoln riff.
The Barry Bonds riff.
The rollin’ up in the pimpmobile riff.
The submarine submerging narrator riff (classic!)
For what it's worth, I highly recommend this iRiff. You won’t be disappointed.
I'm one of the few who actually LIKED this movie as is. But your contributors made a ridiculous movie ridiculously funny. I especially liked the references to OTHER books that didn't quite make the cut...and the "45-second pan...designed to shame the original authors further!" You are most certainly a League of Extrodinary iRiffers!
