Godzilla was originally about a Japanese guy in a rubber monster suit wrecking cities and fighting big moths. *Record-Scratch* But it's the 90's! And the 90's require a dope new attitude, and This ain't your daddy's Godzilla, and Parents 'll never understand it, and We just do, and Special effects and rap covers of Led Zeppelin songs are fine, but what kids really want is a cohesive plot and likable characters...NOT! *High Five* Put on your clashing, unbuttoned (or incorrectly buttoned) over-shirt, swivel that cap around and pull a tuft of your greasy blond hair through the hole, strap on your RatchTech Shoes and get ready to raise the roof because this fly flick is totally money!

Lucky QuipingTrack derivers hilarity again!
I haven't seen this movie since I suffered through it when it first came out. In fact, I forgot it even existed. However, you might be glad that this cinematic disaster exists thanks to QuipTracks' hilarious commentary. That may seem like an insane statement, I know. But, Tristan and Tracy take the straw that is Godzilla (1998!) and turn it into gold. Hysterical, wonderful, hilarious gold.
There are lots of great lines, but one of my favorites I just have to mention. At the beginning, when we are on the Japanese fishing boat watching dudes gutting fish, Tristan mentions that the fish gutting is too leisurely and that they must be sorting the fish parts alphabetically. Then, Tracy elaborates that it's not working out too well because they keep putting the livers in the R bin. Now, that's a finely crafted riff. Tristan and Tracy work so well with each other, and there are lots and lots of great moments in this riff and their others where they play off each other like that.
I recommend this riff and all of QuipTracks others.
Finally a reason to watch this movie
I haven't even finished this but I felt I had to comment. Your track is hysterical, and it finally gives me a reason to watch this abomination of a movie. Thanks.
Excellent job
When I picked this up it was just to round out my quota of 7 Riffs purchases I usually go through. I was a little leery about the beeper synching, instead of spoken lines like Disembaudio does, but I soon realized it works really well, maybe even better than Dis (sorry buddy don't vaporize me with your heat ray!).
The jokes were well timed and the banter was very funny. The only real complaints are the audio level was little low, but that's easily remedied with the volume controls and equalizer on my MP3 player, and sometimes the jokes came out a little to fast and on top of each other, but that just makes me want to run it again to catch what I missed, so it's all good.
Definitely worth the money.
Godzilla Gets Stomped On
A very fine riff for a very, very disappointing film. They do a fine job ripping the movie's many shortcomings and making this steaming pile of "cinema" worth watching. I especially like the riffer's voices, which seem perfectly suited for riffing in general and this film in particular. My only complaint is that some of their riffing actually seemed to make the movie seem better than it really was, which just seems wrong. Good job.
Oh no, there goes Toyko....
"Oh come on, if you can leap over them, you can step on them"
Dear sirs, I had not watched this movie since 1998, when I and two of my friends, both Godzilla fans for years, went to the theater to see this. Within 30 minutes, we all wanted to leave the theater. After the lights came up, the crowd was DEATHLY silent and we all shuffled out of the theater..... our souls..... a little crushed. Thank goodness I would never see this movie again.
FRAK you guys, how the FRAK could you make me suffer through this again?!?!?!?!
That was a HORRIBLE, SHITTY movie. How do you make a godzilla movie without godzilla and have it full of rip-off Raptors from Jurrasic Park?!?
I want to murder this movie. It was worse than anything that Coleman Francis could have done.
But the riffing......
Very nice, very nice. You guys have "it". I cannot define what "it" is, but you all have it.
RiffZIILLA
I had previously considered doing an iRiff of GODZILLA, because I a huge fan of the ORIGINAL Godzilla and hate TriStar's version (which I call FRAUDZILLA) with a passion. I knew that the film deserved to be severely punished, but I wasn't sure if I could make jokes while watching a movie I loathed as much as this one, so I went with the almost-as-bad, but twice-as-long Peter Jackson version of KING KONG instead. Thank God someone else saw fit to riff on TriStar's GODZILLA, so I don't have to! While the commentary is not nearly as vicious towards the film as I would have been, it is a lot of fun. Yes, I actually had FUN watching FRAUDZILLA! QuipTracks somehow managed to make FRAUDZILLA fun to watch! If they can accomplish that, there is no limit to what they can do! In fact, this was overall the most fun iRiff I've listened to so far (whereas some are funny in places, this one manages to remain consistently funny throughout). Only one flaw: the Quippers never pointed out to the listeners that Godzilla does NOT actually appear in this film, even though its title is GODZILLA...but then, I guess that should be obvious to anyone who's seen it. I'm going to have to check out Quiptrack's website and see what else they have to offer. Keep up the GREAT work!
One great riff!!!
I highly recommend this riff. Terrible film. Not surprising really considering Rolands other films. But Quiptracks not only makes the film bearable, they make it one hell of a good time. Pick it up, you won't be disappointed. Unless your iPod battery runs dead and you decide to watch the film without the Quiptrack, then you will be severely disappointed, and ashamed.
If you're still skeptical, why not drop by Quiptracks.com and pick up either Lady in the Water and/or Jurassic Park full length riffs, ABSOLUTELY FREE!!! Go ahead. You'll be back. They all come back!!! Muuhh hUUH WWwaa HHAaa!!!
