American Werewolf in Paris: The One Man Band
American Werewolf in Paris: The One Man Band

Do you remember John Landis' classic take on the werewolf film, American Werewolf in London?  The classic scene with the "American Balloon Thief?"  The amazing transformation sequence that won a special Makeup Effects Oscar?

This is not that film.

Less of a sequel and more of a...well, completely unrelated film, "American Werewolf in Paris" proved that yes, a film was made 16 years after the other one.  Starring Kirk Cameron-alike Tom Everett Scott (from others films in the late 1990s) and Julie Delpy (who shows there's more than one way to pronounce 'cellar'), the plot revolves around a group of extremely hairy monsters that stalk the streets of Paris hating Americans...and there's werewolves, too!  But I kid...the real horror in this film revolves around CG embarassing even for 1997 and, of course, gratuitous use of Smash Mouth.

Join me, Seth Paul, on my first venture into the world of iRiffs, as I pour a little Nair on this 'classic' and remind it a critic's bark is worse than its bite.  And don't worry; I keep the bad dog jokes to a minimum.

Good riff!

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Great job on the accent and very funny throughout... I'm amazed at how very little 'filler' you have in your riffs. I often see iriffs that have areas of dead spots or simply re-stating the movie rather than creating a joke for a scene. Solo riffers do not have the luxury of random banter to cover up slow spots. This really becomes apparent in solo riffs much more than multiple-riffer riffs. In that respect you do an awesome job! I look forward to your Doom riff!

You guys are missing out

I didn't think it was quite as good as Mortal Kombat but that was probably because of the movie choice. If Mortal Kombat was 6 stars out of 5 then this one is surely 5.5 stars out of 5. Excellent job. People who don't want to give solo riffers a shot are missing out. Seth's fast paced, intelligent style never disappoints and you forget you're listening to just one guy. The sound quality has got to be the best done by any iRiffer who isn't in a recording studio and his voices and accents are very good.

Fast paced riffing with a real MST3K feel!

I really think One Man Band's riffs are top notch. So far with Mortal Kombat, Doom and now American Werewolf he has not let me down. I thought MK was going to be his best work but I am wrong Werewolf wins! I really am impressed at his ability to fill the riff with quality jokes, it really has a nice MST feel with the rapid fire riffs.

For only 99 cents it's a great value , keep up the great work One Man Band!
