ICWXP: BLOODY PIT OF HORROR W/ SHORT THE TALKING CAR DVD

iRIFF BY: Incognito Cinema Warriors XP  (Created February 6, 2009)

Join Commander Rick Wolf along with his robot pals Johnny Cylon and Topsy-Bot 5000, as they're forced to sit through their first short film and yet another trashy Italian horror flick at the hands of crazed inventor Dr. Harrison Blackwood!

The Short: In this bone-chilling short, a young boy faces off with grumpy, demonic cars hell-bent on teaching him the rules of pedestrian safety (and giving him every complex in the book).

The Film: Mr. Universe of 1955, Mickey Hargitay (Lady Frankenstein) plays reclusive ex-actor Travis Anderson, who enjoys wearing effeminate bathrobes and brooding in his cozy castle.   Along with his two live-in henchmen, he lives a life of complete and utter solitude!  However, that all changes when a group of smarmy smut photographers and their fussy model girlfriends storm his abode, and it means one thing - wacky trouble!

Watch Travis’ noble crusade against the sinful pornographers, aided by the lovable spirit of skin-tight leotard-wearing murderer, The Crimson Executioner! Your jock area will be positively aching with sympathy pains!

ICWXP:  There’s a new face around the theater!  Well, a new head, actually.  Enjoy the fun as the guys meet “Zed the Head”.  He’s not what you would expect from your average disembodied zombie head.  He’s really quite polite and sophisticated… when he’s not trying to tear your flesh from your bones and swallow your soul.  Zed quickly becomes the target of sophomoric pranks-o'-plenty at the hands of Rick & Co.

As always, this offering is complete with six fun live action skits!

They get better and better

I really enjoyed episode two, and thought it was a huge improvement over episode one, but this third installment was better still. The main area of improvement was with the host segments. While I felt they did go on a little bit too long (when you spend all that money on those sets, you want to show them off), they were still funny, and didn't rely as much on gross-out humor as the second episode did. The riffing is the best you're gonna find outside of MST3K, RiffTrax and Cinematic Titanic. And you certainly get your money's worth, as the episode clocks in at over two hours.

If you haven't seen any of the ICWXP episodes, start with this one, and work backwards.

Fantastic!

this is actually my first ICWXP episode and man did I choose the right one. Riffing was spot on, the host segments were enjoyable and I had to stop my PS3 (I got the VOD version) just to laugh.

I look forward to seeing more of these!

Side note: The resident evil reference was brilliant.

Super Riff

Still the kings of old-school riffing in my opinion. Even better than a lot of rifftrax episodes! I loved the skits and the talking car short was better than any short I've seen riffed to date! No negatives I can think of.

A great episode

This was a great episode. The guys are really coming into their own. I didn't think this episode was as great as episode 2, but I have enjoyed ICWXP more than any of the episodes of Cinematic Titanic and more than any of the RiffTrax I have seen in the last year. For "talented amateurs" these guys are blowing the pros out of the water.

I'd rate it 5-stars if I could...

For some odd reason, the rifftrax site isn't letting me rate this, even though I did buy the DVD through rifftrax. Perhaps it's because there are no files for me to download. I thought I'd order the DVD instead of doing the VOD download, and the DVD did arrive in very short order. ___p___ This is a full-blown MST3k-style episode, in that it includes a story line for ICWXP itself, a short, a few host segments, and even a stinger-clip at the very end. And one of the host segments during the movie did a pretty good skit keying off of the short that they used. It's impressive how much work went into this, for someone who is just getting off-the-ground at making their own movie-riffing show. (for those long-time fans of ICWXP, please note that I mean "impressive for someone who doesn't have some financial backing from some cable channel"). ___p___ One thing I had wrong about ICWXP is I thought it was just one or two people, but it turns out there were several people who contributed to the writing of this episode. The result is plenty of riffs, and plenty of variety of riff-types. I enjoyed it.

Bob's Mini Review:

OMG, that was HILARIOUS. Each release has been better than the last, and that is a good sign for future enjoyment and growth. A LOT of "I have to stop the DVD player" laughter moments.

Two of my favorite:

"This music is poorly looped,....... poorly looped.................... poorly looped"

"I am not an egotist, I am a realist that happens to be awesome".

Host segments were also very funny.

Even Better than Episode 2!!!

Just finished watching my DVD for BLOODY PIT OF HORROR and I have to say this ICWXP episode was somehow even funnier than Lady Frankenstein. They hit a homerun on this one and from just the idea of Episode 4 I a am now watching the ICWXP site for any news on it at all. Long live Rikk and the Bots!

Isn't it Fun!

Bullseye! This stuff is great. I'm so happy to have such a brilliant idea in entertainment - MST3K, continue with ICW's awesome group of writers and ideas to keep this ride up and running. Fanbase is growing and the stuff just gets funnier. Success!

Thanks ICW!

Another awesome IRiff!

This was great! The short was hysterical (I first saw it on YouTube, actually), and the riffing of the film was top-notch. Keep 'em comin', please!
