Ice on Mars - Twilight
Ice on Mars - Twilight

If you think back, I'm sure we all can remember a time that we were an innocent, naive 13-year-old girl who wanted nothing more than for the cute older boy in our class to look our way and realize how special we were beneath our clumsy exterior. For most of us, the story ended with us realizing that the older boy in our class was held back because he'd huffed so much paint he couldn't spell his name without entering a trance-like state, and us realizing we were young men from the Midwest randomly dreaming of older men in a society more stringent than that portrayed in Brokeback Mountain when it came to such things. For Stephanie Meyer, however, she takes this premise, makes the boy a sparkling vampire who doesn't kill humans, and Mary Sues herselfright into the midst of things.

Whether you love it or hate it, there's certainly no denying that Twilight exists. So whether you're a Twi-hater, the boyfriend, husband, father or some other relation to a Twi-lover and you're sick of it and just want something to deaden the vapid silences rampant in this film (you can throw it on an MP3 player & enjoy the film in your own special way!), OR you're a Twi-lover and want to use this as an excuse to show it to friends ('no, no, this makes fun of it!' but secretly you're hoping the magic will sweep them away despite all the silly voices...), this is the Riff for you!

This is the first Ice on Mars product not written solely by Michael T Bradley, and as such is a huge experiment that we all feel turned out really well. Please check out the sample and also find me on YouTube (user: zenmichael) for other samples from this & other products we have available.
Twilight was co-written and co-riffed by: Michael T* Bradley, Kaisha "Time & Again" Medford and Josh "Human Beasts" Robinson. Enjoy, and don't forget to leave feedback and comments!

As always, we're not supported or endorsed in any way by NASA, but my mom still thinks I'm funny.

While you've got Twilight rented/bought already, why not take a look at one of the other riffs available for it, like Raven's Riffs at: http://www.rifftrax.com/iriffs/ravens-riffs/ravens-riffs-twilight ? You can get EVERY TwiRiff, and just start one, and if it's not funny, move on to the next one! Or listen to them all at once! Who knows; there might be NO OVERLAP, making this the most CHOCK FULL OF JOKES riff EVER!

*The T stands for "Team Jasper"

Also, since at least one 17 yr old girl said she preferred the third sample we put up the best, I've now changed the sample link here. If there's anything I've learned over the years, it's don't argue with 17 yr old girls on YouTube. They know the future.

Addendum: Though the vast majority of people I've talked to have had no problems with the audio, since more than a few people have noted it sounding not as great as it should, I've tweaked with the audio, HOPEFULLY fixing this problem for all systems. So as of April 22, there is now a new zip file to DL. If anyone happens to try out the new version, please mention or PM me with any sort of problems/ecstatic exclamations. Thanks, Michael

Overall...

Pretty funny riff done, many of the jokes were spot on with what myself and my group of friends were thinking at the time. Like any comedy some jokes were hit and miss, but overall very enjoyable to watch and laugh to.

Twiiff!

Ice on Mars' Twilight is seriously funny to a person with a love/hate relationship with the sparkly vampires like myself. BIG HUGS!!

Support this riff!

Really fun stuff! This is one of the best iRiffs I've watched yet, way better than many finalists from the contest and better than the last few Rifftrax I've watched. You guys did a MAGNIFICENT job considering how fast you did it. Loved all the "I have a condition!" "Rubber balls bounce higher than hamsters!" lines. I was laughing out loud a lot, which is very rare. The intro and outro dragged and rambled a bit, and the audio quality could use some improvement, but the riffing itself was great!

I was torn between giving this a 4 or a 5. I gave it a 4, but it's really a 4 1/2.

Laugh ot loud funny

This is a must-see. I was new to Ice on Mars and this track has made me hungry for more. They've got great energy, chemistry, an enthusiastic female riffer, a mysterious name, and of course a great sense of humor. The audio had a lot of reverb/echo for some reason, but it was of decent quality.

Ice on Mars: Twilight very funny

This was my first sample of an iRiff and overall it was a lot of fun. There were quite a few lines that surprised me. My (and my roommates) only problem was with the volume, two of the riffers were a bit hard to hear so the volume had to go up, but then the third riffer would practically scream out a line, or just make sounds, that would prompt us to say "Shut up!". Generally though I enjoyed it and would buy more from "Ice on Mars"

Highly reccommended

Very, very well done iRiff; consistently funny throughout, no dead air, though the audio quality could be a bit clearer. Also, well done for putting several samples up on YouTube-- they definitely sold me on buying this one.

Okay riff, good work for amateurs. 3/5.

A decent effort, but the audio quality was pretty crummy. It sounded like they were recording in a bathroom. That really pulled me out of the experience. Like, a good riff with good sound quality sounds like an episode of MST3K, and it sounds like something you could watch on regular TV. This one, because the audio was so rough, reminded me that it was someone's hobby, and made it difficult for me to find the riffs amusing.

However, I would be remiss if I did not mention that in response to criticisms of the sound quality, Michael Bradley of Ice on Mars has taken steps to correct these issues.

That said, I do think the riffs were good. I can't remember any off the top of my head, but it produced a few good guffaws. There was a really funny run over the end credits, where one of the guys was (ostensibly) talking to his fangirl niece. He was trying to carry on a serious dialogue, she was squeeing over the movie.

Near the end, I'm thinking around the part where James starts hunting Bella, the riffs started to seem a little forced; like they were struggling to fill up the space and consequently added too many low quality riffs.

I would say, good effort, and worth the $2.00 if you feel a lot of animosity toward Twilight, and love schadenfreude.

Now with improved sound!

Just watched the riff last night with improved sound and it was awesome! I didn't hear it with the old sound so I can't compare, but I can tell you that this sound, while a little muddy, was perfectly acceptable with the movie playing. I had no trouble hearing the riffs during the movies.

The intro was the funniest Iriff intro I've ever heard. The closing sequence was the funniest closing sequence I've ever heard, so it's almost worth getting this product just for those two parts! Meanwhile, the movie riff itself was fantastic. If you want to see this hideous movie get what it deserves, this riff is a must buy!

You've improved

Well I decided since I bought the Rifftrax and bought Raven's because I owed him one that I might as well by yours and I'm very glad I did. You've greatly improved since that last riff of yours I bought of the Voyager pilot, which I know was your first. Very entertaining and top notch sound quality. I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit more than Raven's and I thought his was good too. The use of the arma"deeyo" and really clever jokes like when commenting on the way shes eating her celery and then referring back to it later by saying "my hair smells like celery" when she sniffs herself.....that was so perfect. It wasn't roll on the floor funny but I really delight when I see stuff like that. There were a few others like that too. The is definitely one I'm going to want to watch again someday but for now I think I'm Twilighted out.

I've never purchased any

I've never purchased any iRiff before, but I plan to start with this movie. I did watch the sample for one of the iRiffs (may have been yours, assuming yours was the Spider Monkey one), and I liked it, so it seems like a good idea.
