Quick! Name a sci-fi movie from 1984 that features murderous robots. If you said The Terminator, you're right, and you get a cookie. If you said Runaway, you're also right, but...um...what the hell is wrong with you? Well, either way, everyone should enjoy this historically accurate tale about how in the near-future we all completely depend on robots to cook our meals, babysit our children, and murder our families. Gene Simmons plays the blandest villain ever captured on screen, while Tom Selleck is led around by his moustache as he repeatedly saves the day in every scene. It must be exhausting.
Note: This riff now has sync lines!

What more needs to be said than, "I'm going in!" Well, maybe a bit more than that, but it's a good start.
If you haven't seen a Heated Seats Production before, make it this one. Of the three released so far, this is the best one. Of course, the movie makes it easier: despite the name Michael Crichton being attached to the project (as director, no less), it's been a long time since I've seen a film take itself so seriously while the blatantly ridiculous takes center stage (and I've seen Green Lantern). Gene Simmons surreptitiously pulls out the world's largest handgun and nobody sees him, not even the cops he's shooting at, and conducts hostage trades in the middle of a crowded outdoor restaurant without even trying to look nonchalant. And don't even get started on Tom Selleck's Amateur Surgeon Hour.
But the riff itself fits right in with the tone. Highlights include any scene involving Bobby and Lois, the "I'm going in!" moments, impressions of Gene Simmons, and the scene between Selleck and a far too enthusiastic cameraman ("Cuddle me...NOW!"). Only down marks are a couple of skits that go on just a little too long and start to feel like filler as opposed to moments of fun (but even those have some good gags..."I WANT A RUBBER GIRAFFE!"). But that and a few chair squeaks audible behind the comedy bits aside, this is one worth getting. After a little hiccup in the beginning sync, it played just fine, even when I had to pause because of the infamous Netflix buffering.
The movie may suck, but the riff doesn't. Highly recommended.
Finally got around to watching this one last night and it was awesome.
There were MANY laugh out loud moments and the observational jokes (e.g. "listen to the talking slot machine bobby") were very good.
I recommend this track.
Just wanted to say awesome iriff, guys. I especially liked the "Walk Like an Egyptian" joke, the joke about no cops in the hotel and the farting on the elevator gag. My only crit was that the spinoff skit at the end ran a bit long and wasn't funny. Otherwise, it was great. I definitely recommend this one.
