What would happen if the Gamera franchise ran out of ideas and tried to pad out a new movie with random fight sequences from other Gamera movies? Destroy All Planets. Still, there is something to be said of the gore of giant monsters violently tearing into each other in a movie aimed at children and dressed as a family film.
Offical Synopsis: A group of aliens from another planet head for Earth with the intentions of conquering it. Their first ship is destroyed in transit by the giant flying turtle Gamera. A second ship makes it to Earth and captures two Boy Scouts and holds them captive so that Gamera will not attack them. The aliens then implant a remote control device into the monster's neck and use the great turtle to attack Tokyo. The boys then come up with a plan to foul up the remote control device to the point where Gamera does the opposite of what he is ordered to. As a result Gamera destroys the aliens ship, but then has to contend with their giant squid like leader Viras.
Running Time: 89 minutes
This is a MERGED video file for the low low price of only $1.99!

This file DOES work!
Someone from RiffTrax noticed my previous comment and also recommended the VLC program, which I got on a free download. I was finally able to view the film, although I wasn't required to change the "avi" file to "mp4". Perhaps VLC does that automatically. I had a feeling this was a MAC issue, so at least other MAC users can refer to this if they encounter similar problems viewing DESTROY ALL PLANETS. I would like to be able to put this on a disc and play it on my DVD Player, but it appears I can only view it on the computer, but at least I finally got to see it.
Wrt: This file doesn't work! (on Mac)
I'm also watching these on a Mac. The file you downloaded has a suffix of ".avi", and for some reason Quicktime does not like Mpeg4 files which have that suffix. ___p___ There are two ways to make it work. (1) change the suffix from ".avi" to ".mp4" (the finder will ask if you really want to do this, just go ahead and click on the "Use .mp4" button). (2) Download the free program VLC, which you can find at:-- http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html -- and use this program to play the ".avi" file. ___p___ While the first trick tends to work, I have had a few ".avi" files which won't play quite right when renamed and played in Quicktime, but will play fine as ".avi" in VLC.
RE: This file doesn't work!
So sorry to hear you're having trouble with the file! That must be frustrating! That is very odd. I've sold about 30 so far and this is the first time I've heard of it not working at all. I've uploaded a direct link for you to download it from. I PM'd you the link. When I uploaded the file to Rifftrax.com they converted it to their settings and I'm guessing one of the compression settings they added doesn't like your computer. So I sent you a link where you can download the original file. Let me know if that doesn't work either and we'll figure out another way to get it to you. Apologies again and do let me know if the file at that link doesn't work on your computer either. You need to get what you paid for obviously! Thanks so much for buying it. I REALLY, truly appreciate it!
This file doesn't work!
I paid for your DESTROY ALL PLANETS iRiff and waited over 2 hours for it to download, only to find that I cannot get it to work on any of my computer programs. I have tried Quicktime, iMovie, and DVD Player on my MAC, and none of them could open the file. The computer says: "The movie could not be opened. This file is not a movie file." Is this "avi" format not compatible with MAC computers? I've never had any problems downloading other iRiffs or RiffTrax, but this is the first combined audio/video file I've tried. If you have any suggestions how to get this to work, please let me know. Otherwise, if I cannot get the file to open, I will have to request a full refund.
Very Very Fun
I'll mostly just repost what I put on YouTube:
not since Joel on MST3K have i come across someone with such perfectly laidback commentary on something. The writing seems solid, if full of a lot of lacunae. but for some reason it totally works. the movie's just so goofy and fun, it doesn't feel empty, and your tone totally makes it feel like we're just chilling and laughing at this sucker.
When I review I always try to quote a favorite line, but here there really isn't one. It's all about the tone.

Thanks! Pt. 2
awfulgoodmovies - Thanks! I definitely cannot complain about being compared to MST3K! Wow, thank you!
Hor-RIFF-ic - What can I say, great minds think alike :) Thanks for the kind words!
BruceHuttner - Thanks for the encouragement! It's a tough job deciding what should be riffed and what should be left in a movie that could be riffed on 100% of the time. I do like the sound of my own voice but I try to let the movie be the movie as well. It's a tough balance to nail perfectly. Thank you so much for buying it and for all the nice compliments! It is much appreciated!
alysschick08 - Wow! Talk about unbridled support! Glad you found it a good deal. My riffs in the future will be merged as well. I like the old school way. None of this syncing stuff ;) jk. Thanks again!
Those of you who still haven't bought this riff - If you buy this, watch it and hate it write me an e-mail and I will personally write you back and apologize for wasting your time. I will also send you a cupcake. Well maybe not the cupcake...
Great price and Great riff!
This seriously is such a bargain! Getting the movie + the riff for such a cheap price made it absolutely worth every penny.
Very original jokes and totally relatable humor.
Keep up the good work! I loved this riff and am looking forward to way more from you mister.
Note: to anyone who is thinking about buying this riff: DO IT! It's so worth it! =)
It's only $1.99 to for both the movie and the riff! But don't buy it just for the price, buy it for the laughs that you'll get...
You won't be disappointed! Seriously.. you won't.
Good thing and Bad thing review
Good thing: The jokes are funny, getting the whole deal for the asking price is well worth it.
Bad thing: There are a few gaps in the riff.
Overall: Very worth your time and effort. Riffer Phoenix is friend to children!

Sweet!
No sooner had the bee comment entered my head than you said it. Hilarious man, loved it. Hope to see more.
Monster movie pain
Funny riff!
Very much like a MST3K KTMA episode.
1.99$ Movie + riff = Can't go wrong. Looking forward to more.
Thanks!
Thanks to all of you who have already bought this and to those of you buyers that have rated it. This was my first stab at riffing a movie and I honestly had no idea I would even sell more than a couple in the first few weeks and here it is three days after its release and it's sold 14 already! I am overwhelmed at the response! Thank you guys! I would love to have all of you who buy it and like it rate it...heck even if you hate it feel free to rate it. Thank you all again for buying this hilariously bad movie and laughing along with me. It has been a humbling experience so far and it's only a few days in! You guys are awesome.
Grace and Peace,
Kevin
