Rowboats and gasoline and mini-bikes, oh my! What could possibly go wrong when the “Danger Dodgers” (a group of juvenile multi-racial misfits) embark on one careless misadventure after another. Fortunately, Safety Woman is there to rescue them and the results are outright hilarity in this 70’s safety film. So throw on your lifejacket and safety helmet, hit the hiking trail and enjoy “Safety in Danger.” It just might save your life.
On of my favorite official Rifftrax shorts is the one for "Safety - Harm Hides at Home". This "Safety - In Danger Out of Doors" video (the original of the video used for this iRiff) is a companion to the original video for that Rifftrax short. We see several of the same characters, and many of the same exaggerated safety topics. And the heroine of this video is the same Guardiana as seen in the other video.
So, the Corny Commentaries picked a fun video to riff on, and they also did a very good job at riffing it. There's about 14 minutes 50 seconds worth of fun here, lots of jokes that work well with the video, and the audio for the riffing is the right volume for the audio in the original movie. They used a version of the video which was 320x240 pixels, and it'd be nice to use something with more resolution. But the video quality is pretty good.
There is one pretty significant technical error though, because the VOD is about 30 minutes long! And the last 15 minutes of the video has *no* audio! It's the entire video played a second time, without any audio at all to it. Right up to that 15 minute point I was confident that I'd rate this as 5 stars. I think I'll still rate it as 5-stars, even with very noticeable error. For one, it's an error that I can fix for my own copy. And it's also an error which the Corny Commentaries could easily fix, and then replace the copy that they uploaded.
So, yeah, one major error, but I'll still give it 5 stars. That's partially because this Guardiana character is such a riot to start with. It might also be nice for the Corny Commentaries guys to provide an audio-only track of just their riffs, so people could combine their riffing with a larger version of the video.
