Cowabunga! Just when you thought everyone had forgotten, 1990 comes ninja-flipping back into your life with this timeless classic about martial arts, toxic waste, and hockey!
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is the story of Carl, the worst ninja ever. Also, there's a subplot about a group of sewer-mutants who come to the surface under cover of darkness to beat up teenagers. Somewhere along the line, they run afoul of the Foot Clan and their leader, the unlikely-dressed Master Shredder. When their wise, old, and undoubtedly stinky master Splinter is rat-napped, the Ninja Turtles must draw on all their ninja training and quip their way to victory!
Join Shawn and Keith of "Cinester Theater" as they do battle with stunt-men in turtle costumes, washed-up hockey players, and the pointiest villain in movie history in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"!

lovely as usual
i'm a little out of it at the moment, so this might not make sense, but i loved this riff. i think the Cinester guys are not only hilarious, but they also do a good job of picking movies where you can kind of coast along, mumbling 'the hell?' even when they maybe have some bits of slowness (not many here, but a couple that felt somewhat bereft of riffs--for like 1:45 at a time, max, though, and it's really only because other people have commented on it that I was watching for it). i loved the silly running gags (yes, even after IT and TMNT i'm STILL not tired of 'IN THE SEWER' gags, and 'ninja!' was, I thought, used JUST the right amount of times). My favorite two gags were "You wear a RED mask" and "Thank you, boys, I--AHHH! THE FIRE! WHY DID YOU SUMMON ME IN A FIRE?!?!" Really all the Splinter stuff was top-notch ("I had her, by the way"). I could totally go for a dirty, crazy ass Splinter spinoff. Great stuff!

I liked it
Not your strongest work, but I still found it very funny - 4/5. You two still have great chemistry that helps sell every joke - loved the whole "Boilermaker" exchange.
I enjoyed this iRiff
Well worth the $1.99 ... Thanks Cinester Theater. As always I'm anxiously awaiting future releases.
This was kind of a mixed
This was kind of a mixed bag, and I get the feeling I picked the wrong one of your releases to start with. While there were a couple seriously funny jokes (largely having to do with Splinter) you seemed to spend a lot of your time kind of pointing out the jokes that were already in the movie. I can tell you guys are funny, I just don't think this movie was very compatible with your riffing style.
hey

I Need Some Turtle Soup
I had forgotten just how bad the movie really was. Any you were right, all the celebrated when they did not actually DO anything the whole movie.
I had to stop the DVD and MP3 during the whole "put the injured turtle in the bathtub" screne started with the riffing on the drawing of the turtle on the toilet from laughing.
Very funny!
Not your strongest work
So, I just finished this, and while it was alright and had some great gutbusters, it seemed kind of lacking compared to some of your past releases (though honestly, anything is lacking compared to your Back to the Future riff, which may be the Citizen Kane of iRiffs).
The biggest issue here is dead space. There were a lot of moments where I was going "oh, come on, I could write a half-decent joke for that." Another issue is you worked some of the same types of jokes a bit too much. Jokes like "oh god that inflected a real injury!" and "the sewer smells" got a bit old by the final third of the film.
Again, some really great moments, my favorite being Shredder's concern over the Turtle's "Wheel of Fortune" move. But overall it didn't feel like you had as much heart into it as some of your past ones.
