What is iRiffs?

Think you have the chops to make a RiffTrax?

Just create and upload your humorous commentaries on anything, set your price, and we'll do the rest by hosting and distributing your content. You'll even get your very own product page to promote your iRiff. Best of all, you share in the sales of your iRiff! We will feature the best tracks on the RiffTrax home page and the funniest stuff will rise to the top based on our user comments and star rating system.

We'll be having contests with cash prizes, and the best iRiffs' artists will get invited to work with Mike Nelson and the RiffTrax guys, and get paid to make a RiffTrax Presents!

Q: What is an iRiff?

A: An iRiff is a home-made audio commentary that you can upload to the RiffTrax Store and sell to our thousands of daily visitors. You'll make 50% of the net revenue your iRiff generates, paid in quarterly installments on balances over $25.

Q: What do the different formats, NTSC and PAL, mean?

A:

The short answer is that NTSC files are for people in North America, including the United States and Canada. PAL files are for users in regions other than Region 1, such as the United Kingdom and Australia. The long answer has to do with technical specifications of each format. NTSC and PAL have different framerates - meaning a PAL video actually is a bit faster than its NTSC counterpart, making it somewhat shorter. It's difficult to notice unless you have two versions of the same movie (or audio file) playing side-by-side; but eventually you'll notice the PAL version being ahead of the NTSC version. Sometimes the difference is as much as a few minutes! If you find that your mp3 file is constantly out of sync with the DVD you're watching, first make sure that you've downloaded the correct format of mp3 (NTSC for Region 1, PAL for elsewhere) and then check other things, such as the DVD version (Collector's Edition, Director's Cut, etc.) is correct for that mp3 file. These details are usually found on the product page. For more information on NTSC, as well as a list of countries that use it, click here. For PAL information use this link.

(Vote for Riff Raff Theater in the Rifftrax Presents contest! http://www.rifftrax.com/iriffs-contest) We're trying to make this easy for you. You didn't seem to see us when we waved at you at the food court. Our voice mails never get return calls. Your Facebook status never seems to mention us...

In 2007, Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes starred in the epic film adaptation of Marvel Comic's supernatural superhero, Ghost Rider! ...thankfully, this 80's educational short on bus safety has absolutely nothing to do with that. Once again join Commander Rick Wolf and his mischievous robot pals as they...

The titular, Ovaltine-shilling Captain Midnight (who seems to work entirely during broad daylight) is a man with a mission. A secret mission. A mission to fix a radio. A radio apparently vital to national security. A RADIO THAT IS NOT BROADCASTING OVALTINE COMMERCIALS 24/7!   No, we don't get...

Don’t you hate it when you’re just sitting at home, watching movies you taped off of HBO, then, suddenly, The King of the Mole Men shows up and spills BBQ sauce on your nice, new carpet?  What to do?  I’ll tell you what: Watch two short films. The first one celebrates...

With two colons in the title, you know it's going to be the confusing roller coaster ride of a lifetime. Though the very production of this short seems to have answered it's own stupid question, that's no reason to ignore all the regional airport goodness. Enjoy riveting classroom action,...

There was a time when the moral rectitude of our country depended on meaty white guys shouting loudly at the audience. One such man makes his case for pornography being a growth industry by employing hastily-censored images cut out from magazines scavenged from the dumpster behind his office. If...

TRON. We can't really identify it as a movie. It's a shared experience of nostalgia. Everyone we talk to remembers loving it, but can't remember when they last saw it. And so we, in our continued efforts to improve our community, have taken it upon ourselves to educate the viewing public on just...

Ever wonder what really caused the Great Depression?  Spend 20 minutes with The Lost City, and you'll wonder no longer.  For the 1930s-era kids who spent all of their hard-earned pocket money to witness this slow, drab, action-free serial, great depression was the only logical...

Ah, the seventies. It was a time when exploitation ruled (well, not ruled. What’s the word? Oh, yes. “Existed.” It existed). What’s better than exploitation cinema? Knock off exploitation cinema! You know I mean it because of the exclamation point! And...

The only thing cooler than carnivorous plants is the fact that God himself approves of them. Of this, we are reminded constantly during this short in which our mild-mannered host smirks as grasshopper and beetle populations are decimated. If you like nature, dislike insects, or just have ten...
