Best Friends B-Movie Bonanza presents "Deadtime Stories." PART II
Best Friends B-Movie Bonanza presents "Deadtime Stories." PART II

Part II!

What's that?  An entire 90+ minute show for only $1.50?  That's right!  Matt and Jon from Philistine Productions present "Best Friends B-Movie Bonanza!"  For this first episode, they have chosen the 80's video legend "Deadtime Stories," a drive-in style anthology kinda like "Creepshow" without any of the qualities that made it good.  It's like "Tales from the Darkside"meets "Growing Pains," served with a side of jellied-Quarterflash. Join Jon and Matt as they swallow a triple dose of 80's camp.

Also, one of the actors in the movie was briefly on "Family Ties!"  Isn't that great?...no?...

Fantastic!

The skits alone are worth the $0.75 per file, the riffing is great, the cheesey video quality is straight from the 80's which makes it even more fun to watch. I loved the opening song.

Much like I said on Part 1,

Much like I said on Part 1, a lot of fun, very worth the download!

Awesome

I'll admit, the first few minutes of this one had me kind of wondering if they'd run out of steam. The bizarre "male model that's really a dog" scene must have, admittedly, been REALLY difficult to write for, but the joke they go for is, I think, not very funny. It's IMPRESSIVE that it goes on for so long--extremely clever writing--but just not very funny or engaging. Thankfully, that scene ends and it picks right back up being just as solid as the first half (any misgivings I might've had were totally wiped away by the cameo from their INCREDIBLY hot sound engineer & camera operator at the end. A-wooga). Probably my favorite line from this half was the way the "Star Wipe" song ends--I'm not a big fan of funny songs (I think the ONLY MST3K song that ever made me laugh was "Road House Christmas"), but the end had me LOLing like a friggin cat. A lolcat. ... get it? Anyway. There could be more of the puppet (I was hoping he'd pop in again at the end; I hope if these guys do future releases the puppet is in it just as much, if not a few seconds more). Beyond that, just damn impressive. Thanks for this, guys.

Rated this half as well...

And gave it a higher score since the best of the 3 segments is in this section, but also evens out my score to 4.5 overall. But see part I if you want to see the comments I left.
