What is iRiffs?

Think you have the chops to make a RiffTrax?

Just create and upload your humorous commentaries on anything, set your price, and we'll do the rest by hosting and distributing your content. You'll even get your very own product page to promote your iRiff. Best of all, you share in the sales of your iRiff! We will feature the best tracks on the RiffTrax home page and the funniest stuff will rise to the top based on our user comments and star rating system.

We'll be having contests with cash prizes, and the best iRiffs' artists will get invited to work with Mike Nelson and the RiffTrax guys, and get paid to make a RiffTrax Presents!

Q: What is an iRiff?

A: An iRiff is a home-made audio commentary that you can upload to the RiffTrax Store and sell to our thousands of daily visitors. You'll make 50% of the net revenue your iRiff generates, paid in quarterly installments on balances over $25.

Q: What do the different formats, NTSC and PAL, mean?

A:

The short answer is that NTSC files are for people in North America, including the United States and Canada. PAL files are for users in regions other than Region 1, such as the United Kingdom and Australia. The long answer has to do with technical specifications of each format. NTSC and PAL have different framerates - meaning a PAL video actually is a bit faster than its NTSC counterpart, making it somewhat shorter. It's difficult to notice unless you have two versions of the same movie (or audio file) playing side-by-side; but eventually you'll notice the PAL version being ahead of the NTSC version. Sometimes the difference is as much as a few minutes! If you find that your mp3 file is constantly out of sync with the DVD you're watching, first make sure that you've downloaded the correct format of mp3 (NTSC for Region 1, PAL for elsewhere) and then check other things, such as the DVD version (Collector's Edition, Director's Cut, etc.) is correct for that mp3 file. These details are usually found on the product page. For more information on NTSC, as well as a list of countries that use it, click here. For PAL information use this link.

You know the story: boy meets ape; boy gets ape; boy loses planet.  In this remake of the 1968 film, Marky Mark Wahlberg (sans Funky Bunch) must defeat the ape army before the cast smothers to death beneath Rick Baker's cumbersome facial appliances.  In a story as loosely based on Pierre...

Sure, I can say without rebuke, we've all experimented at a young age with the explosive effects of booze. Whether it be that swig of shine from Granny's still, or.. Actually, I can't think of a single real, live-action instance when a libation has ever been so incendiary. Where dark, gaseous...

Linda's Film on Menstruation tells the story of a 15-year-old girl who is not named Linda, her 45-year-old teenaged boyfriend, her first period, and the pointy cartoon health teacher who gives her advice from the television. "Sure," you're saying, "that sounds fun. Menstruation and...

Again?!? Surely they didn't make another one. Ok, if you say so, but it does seem like overkill.  Hor-RIFF-ic Productions is back for another installment of the famous horror franchise: Friday the 13th Part 3! Gary, Erin, and Satan return to Crystal Lake looking some merry mayhem. But with the...

This was the FINAL installment in the original GAMERA film series, and is quite possibly the WORST!  Evil alien invaders (AGAIN?  Don’t these stupid aliens ever learn?) from the planet Zanon attack Earth in an Imperial Star Destroyer they apparently borrowed from...

Stephen King is the Master of Horror. Of course, anyone who's read his books also knows that he's the Master of Writing Books That Are About 400 Pages Longer Than They Need To Be. And anyone who's seen one of the many movie adaptations of his books knows that he's also the Master Of Adapting...

After WW2 there was a huge increase in birthrate. (No thanks to horny returning vets) As a result the one room school houses of America couldn't handle the influx. Jam Handy produced this film to guilt the working class into supporting any tax proposal that would increase funding for education....
NOW AT A SPECIAL PRICE! We ain't gonna get rich - we just want you to listen! Gary Sinise 'phones it in' as quite possibly the worst and most scientifically inaccurate film in recent history, 'Mission to Mars', gets it's cumuppance from the comedy pop-culture podcasters at ...

They don't make action movies like they used to. Inflated special-effects budgets have made it too easy, and now every action movie seems to be about pure spectacle. Wouldn't it be great to look back on the action movies of yesterday? Back when all you needed to keep an audience enthralled...
