Alcohol is Dynamite
Alcohol is Dynamite

Drinking: Most of us are doing it right now. Pilots do it. Doctors do it. I even know a certain Weimaraner that enjoys a beer or two -- every now and then. But have you ever worried needlessly about what alcohol can do to you? No? Perfect.

Join Sean and Scott as they fire up the Wayback Machine and take us back to a simpler time when children could be convinced of anything [even a desk saving them from an atomic blast] as long as someone made a short film about it.

Thrill as two kids with scoliosis and bad hair cuts learn about the real danger that's lurking inside that bottle.

So, grab a drink or two and hanker down for a short from the 1700s about the evils of alcohol! But with interruptions and sarcastic comments!

[This is an all-new, Two Riffer Edition of the short released last year by Lost Playhouse Theatre.]

Twice as much dy-no-mite

I also bought the earlier version of this short. While the original version wasn't bad, this version shows quite a bit of improvement. For one it helps to have multiple riffers, but I also think this version shows a smoother delivery that just comes from experience. I think I give the first version 4-stars, but I think this version is worth a pretty solid 5-stars. ___p___ The group might want to include a one-liner ID of who they are in this iRiff (it's "Lost Playhouse Theater", right?). The sound quality is perfectly fine on this riff. I don't know what the original unriffed video was like, but it'd be nice to have a larger image (larger in screen-size), although I realize that it's very nice to end up with a small video-file.

Thanks for the review!

This is a very well thought out and worded review, and it's both helpful and appreciated.

I'm not sure if it's because of MST3k, or what -- but I too always enjoy the multiple-riffer Rifftrax over the 1 person ones from early on.

I'm very pleased to hear that you felt this one was an improvement over the last. As it's only the second time I've tried an iRiff, it's good to hear that we're heading in the right direction. :)

To answer the criticisms:

1) ID -- I agree. I thought about that as well, and if it weren't for trying to get uploaded in time for the contest we probably would have. I'll think on this for the next one we do.

2) Video size -- We thought about this as well, but the larger size they had for download exceeded the file size limits for iRiffs. I'll check into video compression for the next one to see if I can keep the physical size up and the file size down.

Thanks again for your rating and your input. Hopefully, comments will help us make the next one even better.

More pixels, more dynomite...

What's the size limit for a video-short? Your final video is 27.4 MB, and I have bought several others which were 100-150 MB. Maybe the thing to do is to take the larger video (from archive.org), and then convert it to smaller dimensions (but still larger than the small video at archive.org).

RE: More pixels, more dynamite...

The larger size was 400MBs.

As per your comment and my initial concerns, I planned to do just that for the next short we do -- bring in the larger size and try to compress the video.

If the video size really detracts from enjoying the current riff, I'll look into the possibility of re-doing it with the larger video and getting it to the people who already purchased it.

Thanks again.

Alcohol is Dynamite... AND *updated*!

We replaced the original with a larger-video version! That's twice as much resolution for the same price!

We also added title and ID screens.

[Previous purchasers should be able to re-download from their Files to get the new version.]

Keep those comments coming! They help us make our work better.

Thanks,

Larger version works great!

I did check out the "My Account/My Files" listing, and noticed that the new (109.56 MB) version was there, listed under the date I originally bought it. I downloaded the new version, and it works great. Thanks for going to the extra trouble to re-generate this!

NEW SAMPLE

Hey, gang -- here's a new sample. Hopefully, this gives you a better idea of what the short is like.

If you purchased it, please give us a review -- even constructive criticism is appreciated [although we tend to prefer praise...]

Thanks for buying!

Please rate and review.
