Only one 1961 motion picture dared to tell the controversial tale of homosexuals prancing about the city, finding love in unusual places. That film was West Side Story.
Also released in 1961 was "Boys Beware," a fantastically alarmist Sid Davis short film about the dangers of homosexuals, who can be found just about anywhere one looks -- even, if you can believe it, in public restrooms (!). Well, West Side Story had its Riff, and it's about time 1961's other best picture got a riff of a different sort. So sit back, relax*, and enjoy "Boys Beware" with Isaac Seawell, as A Riffer Runs Through It.
*Don't get too relaxed, now. There's probably a homosexual right behind you, just waiting to make his move. Look out!
(Included with this download are both the complete video and a riff-only MP3 version.)

a good job well done. i liked it very much. i've always enjoyed this short - it's even better with the riff. i sure am glad i'm a girl and therefore do not need to beware of things and stuff....oh, and great riffer name.

This one was pretty decent. A lot of annoying lip smacking, might want to edit those out. Favorite Riff: "Say, that's funny. Jimmy didn't remember being naked when he got IN the car."
Thanks for the positive feedback, folks! I hope to continually improve at writing, recording, and editing, all of which I'm learning as I go. This was my first attempt, and a very quick one at that, and represents a step in the right general direction, but I certainly don't claim it's the final destination of my riffing.
Regarding lip smacking... Yeah, it's apparently something I do a lot without noticing. Who knew? I actually edited out a bunch of them. Next time, I'll be more aware of it to prevent it from happening in the first place and take a little more care in the editing process, too.
i just wanted to say that it's got to take a lot of guts to put yourself out there for our scrutiny by posting an iRiff. i'm glad that people like you do, indeed, have the guts to do it. i'm enjoying all the different styles of riffing here. just like with our beloved and mighty 'Forefathers of Riffing' i'm sure we're going to see lots of evolving amongst the iRiffers. that's just the way it goes. so Riff On, Riffer!
You had me in tears, very good one!
It was alright. I didn't think there was anything particularly funny or memorable though. You seem to have potential though.
I really enjoyed this. Gotta agree with the previous comment about the lip-smacking, though you did seem to stop that as the short went on.
