What is iRiffs?

Think you have the chops to make a RiffTrax?

Just create and upload your humorous commentaries on anything, set your price, and we'll do the rest by hosting and distributing your content. You'll even get your very own product page to promote your iRiff. Best of all, you share in the sales of your iRiff! We will feature the best tracks on the RiffTrax home page and the funniest stuff will rise to the top based on our user comments and star rating system.

We'll be having contests with cash prizes, and the best iRiffs' artists will get invited to work with Mike Nelson and the RiffTrax guys, and get paid to make a RiffTrax Presents!

Q: What is an iRiff?

A: An iRiff is a home-made audio commentary that you can upload to the RiffTrax Store and sell to our thousands of daily visitors. You'll make 50% of the net revenue your iRiff generates, paid in quarterly installments on balances over $25.

Q: What do the different formats, NTSC and PAL, mean?

A:

The short answer is that NTSC files are for people in North America, including the United States and Canada. PAL files are for users in regions other than Region 1, such as the United Kingdom and Australia. The long answer has to do with technical specifications of each format. NTSC and PAL have different framerates - meaning a PAL video actually is a bit faster than its NTSC counterpart, making it somewhat shorter. It's difficult to notice unless you have two versions of the same movie (or audio file) playing side-by-side; but eventually you'll notice the PAL version being ahead of the NTSC version. Sometimes the difference is as much as a few minutes! If you find that your mp3 file is constantly out of sync with the DVD you're watching, first make sure that you've downloaded the correct format of mp3 (NTSC for Region 1, PAL for elsewhere) and then check other things, such as the DVD version (Collector's Edition, Director's Cut, etc.) is correct for that mp3 file. These details are usually found on the product page. For more information on NTSC, as well as a list of countries that use it, click here. For PAL information use this link.

Well nothing says 'Season's Greetings' like 16th century commedia dell'arte, bringing forth all the wonders of spousal abuse, animal beatings, racial stereotyping, reptile maulings, and mad rabid monkeys. All this sponsored by the 'MAN' himself, San-ta CLAUS!! (little Adam West beat there) We open...

Movies have taught us an awful lot about robots. They're stronger, faster, and smarter than us. Their emotionless faces of tempered steel can hide a childlike sense of innocence and wonder, or an unquenchable thirst for murder and destruction. They'll take our jobs. They'll steal our hearts....
DANGER!  DANGER!  HORRIBLE MOVIE! When you think of "action star," who do you think of?  Arnold Schwarzenegger?  Sylvester Stallone?  If you said "The guy who played Joey on 'Friends'," then this movie is for you (and get some help)!  It's the...

Meet Jack and Nora. Jack is pretty sure he loves Nora, because she's much better than that dame Jill he dumped who left him high and dry at the bottom of a hill with nothing to show for it but a bucket of water. Nora, on the other hand, isn't so sure. How can she know whether or not the aching...

Re-enter the Lost City in this, the third, and far from final, chapter in the saga. This week, Bruce and Jerry run, Doctor Manyus uses a gadget, Natcha frets, Apollyn rubs, and Zolok administrates. Or was that last week? Anyway... THRILL with adventure! SEE the obscene power of the freezing gun!...

More than two decades ago, a group of men attempted to riff the 1968 movie, "The Green Slime". They failed... Okay, so they didn't know what riffing was yet, they hadn't perfected the craft, but soon would! Now, revisit the film used for the original, unbroadcast pilot of MST3K,...

Starring Live Schreiber (Orson Welles in RKO 281) and Hugh Jackman (of the critically acclaimed The Prestige) in a case of simultaneous career shame, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the cobbled together and largely retconned history of the only X-Man that anyone out there seems to care about....

In the indiscernible future man has begun taking his first tentative steps into the galaxy sending his greasy Italians into the void to explore and discover. It is an age of danger and intrigue as man grows even lazier. We enter this story at a time when man has begun passing off his work...

The Douglas brothers are trapped in the basement of their inattentive parents.  For years the only contact they had with the outside world was through movies rented for them from the local cheap video store.  Recently, upon discovering their Grandfather’s old ham radio, Alex, Danny...
Bicycle Clown Thumbnail.JPG
What was the biggest threat to the American people in the 50's you ask? Many people will throw around things like "Communism" and some "chilly" war. The real threat to Americans was obviously the misuse and lack of maintenance when it came to bicycles. Why else would there be so...
